Spring lambs scoping out their new surroundings. Higher Ground was inspired by lambing season and the countless nights I had growing up on farms feeding lambs through all hours or the night. Some even living in the lounge for the first few weeks of their lives to give them the best chance of survival. The feeling this painting gives of them standing out on their own is a sense of joy and accomplishment. Being grateful that they are happy, healthy and strong, feeling playful and adventurous. I hope this painting can bring you as much joy as it gave me creating it.
